The Conversations Women Bring —
and What They Take Away

Here are some of the questions women in Newcastle brought to their mentor conversations.

"I am looking to move out of education and into consulting. I'd like to talk to someone about the transition and the leap.

Started a shift in my mindset around the transition I’m undertaking. "

⎯ Jessica, Newcastle mentee

"How can I lead and empower female leaders with confidence?

I received a fresh perspective to look at things: to really question your values, what matters to you in a workplace, what is the meaning for you behind your work, and making sure those things are aligned."

⎯ Bee, Newcastle mentee

"I am looking for Board roles and meeting local professional women.

Connecting into Newcastle networks as a professional can be difficult for people who don’t work in the area or do not have any time or knowledge to source available opportunities. This walk provided a simple way to commence that linkage. My mentor, Liz, also provided helpful insights into available opportunities that are easily accessible."

⎯ Dana, Newcastle mentee

"I would also like to discuss the kinds of experiences or opportunities that would best strengthen my leadership profile and help demonstrate readiness for more senior or strategic roles.

I received clarity on how to prioritize pursuing the strategic while in an operational role."

⎯ Vashti, Newcastle mentee
