Rebecca (Bec) has diverse experience touching on almost every area of commercial legal practice, involving multiple jurisdictions and a wide variety of industries and clients. Her practice has a strong focus on intellectual property law, privacy and technology law, competition and consumer law, and risk management.

She advises on a broad range of contractual matters, assists clients to participate in mediations and conciliations, and has experience managing and advising on major litigation, investigation, and regulatory projects. Her experience includes defending and pursuing copyright, trade mark, and patent infringement claims, as well as claims for passing off, misleading and deceptive conduct, and misuse of confidential information. She provides risk management advice regarding intellectual property and brand protection issues, as well as in relation to ACCC and ASIC investigations and proceedings, and with respect to various state and federal statutory obligations, authorizations, and notifications. She also advises in relation to the impacts of social media, privacy law issues, governance queries, and freedom of information requests, and has experience advising government departments and agencies with respect to competition law issues and competitive neutrality considerations. She is a regular speaker and writer on legal issues and provides training in risk management and governance to clients, industry bodies, and other professionals.

She has been recognized by Doyle’s Guide as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property and Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law in Australia and as a Recommended Lawyer in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law in SA, and was included in the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th Editions of Best Lawyers™ Australia for Litigation.

She was the 2021 President of the Law Society of South Australia, and in that role was proud to lead, contribute to, and drive the Society's advocacy actions and strategic direction (including a strong focus on a diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing agenda), and to represent the profession in engagements with the community, media, government, judiciary, and other stakeholders.

She has been a non-executive Board Member for the MS Society of SA and NT and was an inaugural member of the Flinders Law School Advisory Board, previously sat on Boards and subcommittees for the Law Council of Australia, Spence Club Inc., and the Women Lawyers Association of South Australia, and is a co-founder of Women At The Table, a not-for-profit group established in 2017 to foster business and career opportunities for South Australian women.
