A recognized veteran of the travel and technology industry who over the last 25 years has helped cultivate some of the best-known brands in travel such as Hotwire (Expedia) where she was part of the hotel launch team in 2000. Earlier in her career, Melissa gained deep knowledge of both travel and technology with industry-leading companies including IHG, IBM and Oracle (Sibel Systems). At IBM, Melissa was part of the Travel and Transportation consulting vertical selling implementation solutions to early adopters in the travel space such as Hotels.com (HRN) and MGM Resorts. Melissa’s experience also includes on-line travel, distribution and venture backed start-ups such as Room 77, providing hotel search capabilities where she played a key role leading its partner and business development functions reporting directly to the CEO.
In her current role as VP/GM – Global Client Group, Melissa leads a global team responsible for retention and growing profitability for Amex GBT’s largest and most strategic clients like Google, Microsoft, GM and Disney owning full P&L responsibility for each client.
Melissa has developed deep relationships and networks in each of the organizations in which she has worked. Her strengths in sales and business development, change management and people leadership uniquely position her at GBT to handle a wide range of responsibilities across various lines of business.
