Katherine is the Valuer-General of South Australia, who is an independent statutory appointment by the Governor under the Valuation of Land Act 1971.The Valuer-General is responsible for and has ownership of valuations of properties in South Australia and also, to protect the accuracy and integrity of those valuations to ensure fairness in the distribution and collection of land based rates and taxes.

Prior to her appointment as Valuer-General in 2019, Katherine was the State Director of Valuation and Advisory Services at CBRE, having moved from Sydney to Adelaide for that role in 2014.

Katherine grew up on the Central Coast of New South Wales and started in the property industry in 1999 where she has undertaken a wide variety of roles in her 20 years of being part of the property industry. Her career has afforded her opportunities to develop a wide range of skills which has enabled her to give back to the community through non for profit board appointments and is currently chairperson on the Animal Welfare League of SA Board. Additionally, Katherine is a former National Australian Property Institute Board member.

Katherine believes that our future rests in a communal effort in fostering the next generation of professionals and volunteers on and sits on Advisory Boards for the University of South Australia, Adelaide University and the Minister’s Built Environment Education Liaison Group.
