Josée Tremblay

Josée Tremblay brings broad international experience leading large organizations and managing capital intensive portfolios in heavy industrial settings. Her expertise is in helping businesses identify new profitable opportunities through the lens of deep technical understanding, quality decisions, and strategic and commercial insights. She is a Principal at Strategic Decisions Group (SDG), a global firm awarded as one of America’s Best Management Consulting Firms in 2023.
In her previous roles, she has worked both onshore and offshore in the energy industry and most recently on the production, development and exploration of Canada’s East Coast where she was the Vice President for the region with Suncor Energy. During her tenure, she served over three years as the Chair of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)-Offshore Policy Group.
She retains close connections with Atlantic Canada and is currently the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors at C-Core, an engineering R&D organization, and a non-executive Director with both Genoa Design, a naval architecture private firm and TriplePoint Resources, a clean-energy venture.
With a career dedicated to fostering diversity in non-traditional fields, a passion for building strong teams in an inclusive environment, Josee’s insight transforms and enables sustainable outstanding performance.
Originally from Quebec, Josée is fluent in both French and English at an executive working level. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary, a certificate of Strategic Decision and Risk Management from Stanford School of Engineering and an Executive Education Certificate in Finance and Accounting from Rice University. She also completed the Harvard In-Residence Leadership program from the institution’s school of business.
She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, a professional engineer in the province of Alberta, and the chair of the Dean’s Schulich School of Engineering Industry Advisory Council (SIAC).
Josée, along with the support of her spouse and two children, has a life-long interest in enabling access to learning and education. While living in Asia, she contributed to building libraries in Nepal and Vietnam. More recently, she built a sustainable bursary with the Engineering Faculty at the University of Alberta to increase access for students requiring financial assistance.
