Jo is an experienced organisational leader and strategic policy director operating at the highest level of government in Australia. For the past 9 years Jo was the Deputy Chief of Staff to Mark McGowan, the Premier of Western Australia and Leader of the Opposition.Jo has worked across all levels of government and with the private sector and NGOs to drive reforms in a diverse range of fields including job creation, economic diversification, energy, training, child protection, health, contracting and procurement, and climate change. She was a leader in the development of the WA Recovery Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jo is a leader of organisational and cultural change of big systems driven by a collaborative approach to client focussed policy and service delivery. She is a skilled negotiator and leader having been the Branch Assistant Secretary for the Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association for a decade.
