Gabriella Montandon is an international Chief Financial Officer with 20+ years of experience supporting private and publicly held companies to navigate significant financial and operational transformations. Her expertise is in partnering with CEO’s, founders and presidents to help them stabilize and grow their companies to achieve material financial turnarounds and successful market exits. Seen as a trusted advisor to board, audit, and investment committees, she has worked across industries including FMCG, luxury, fashion and beauty retail, professional services, corporate governance, industrial and tobacco.

Currently acting as an independent consultant, Mrs. Montandon has advised multiple clients including The Lane Crawford JOYCE Group, Ryder Diamonds, CARAT* London, Fresh Accounting, bbase Design Group, and Creature Comforts Veterinary Group. Mrs. Montandon is recognized as a collaborative partner and strategist who champions transparent decision making, fosters deep stakeholder engagement, builds effective cultures and drives sound governance, all while closely aligning with her clients to understand their obstacles to growth and create a clear roadmap to help them to restructure, return to profitability and capitalize on opportunities.

Prior to her advisory work, Mrs. Montandon was the Global Chief Financial Officer at The Red Flag Group (Refinitiv) and held global leadership roles in FP&A with BAT, PepsiCo, Arthur Andersen, ALCOA, and A.S. Watson Group in Australia, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

Some of Mrs. Montandon’s recent transaction highlights include: supporting the delisting of a HK$900M luxury fashion and beauty brand, achieving operational breakeven within 12 months after 3 years of running losses; partnering with the CEO of a B2B eyewear manufacturer to develop a multiyear, multifunctional strategy architecture to amplify revenues by 35% in 2 years; and strategizing the successful exit of a multi-location veterinary clinic supporting the 12-month integration into the US$1B acquirer, Mars Veterinary Health.

Mrs. Montandon is a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia) and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA). She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland in Australia, where she also completed additional study in law. More recently, Mrs. Montandon joined the Senior Executive Leadership Program and Director’s College at Stanford University’s The Rock Center for Corporate Governance in Hong Kong and the U.S.

Passionate about supporting women, Mrs. Montandon is an active member of the Hong Kong community. She is currently a career mentor in the Inspiring Girls Foundation, has previously served as both a mentor and a programme steering committee member for The Women’s Foundation and is a member of the 30% Club and Epic Angels. In her free time, she provides pro-bono mentoring and coaching to support the growth and development of female entrepreneurs.

A fluent French speaker, Mrs. Montandon is a global citizen and holds Canadian, Australian and Swiss citizenships. Currently, she and her husband live in Hong Kong with their two daughters. Gabriella is Calgarian!
