Claire currently serves as a Non-executive Director of Youi Insurance, Aware Financial Services, Athena Financial, AuditCover, Zero Hash Australia and The Stella Prize. She is also an active strategic adviser to a number of early stage early stage fintech ventures.

Claire’s professional background is in law. She founded boutique financial services regulatory advice firm, The Fold Legal, in 2002 and ran it until its sale to Halo Group in 2021. Before that she spent 17 years as an insurance law specialist with Philips Fox (now DLA Piper).

Claire has been an active thought leader throughout her career, delivering over 300 presentations and publications in Australasia on financial services legal and regulatory issues since 1988. She was instrumental in the establishment and growth of Australia’s fintech sector, assisting to found Fintech Australia, serving on the inaugural Australian Government FinTech Advisory Group and leading a number of industry working parties contributing to government policy development in diverse areas such as the regulatory sandbox, digital advice and blockchain regulation.

Claire thrives on complexity and regulation and takes pride in her reputation for finding elegant solutions to thorny problems. She is a fervent believer in the magic that occurs when great culture meets operational and governance excellence.
