Britt Butler is the General Manager of Nyrstar Hobart, a refinery and wharf operation producing zinc, copper, cadmium and acid. She leads a team of around 600 people at the iconic 104 year old zinc works located on the Derwent River. Britt is the first female General Manager at Nyrstar Hobart and is a strong advocate for developing female leaders at all levels of business.
Britt has 27 years’ experience in the mining industry with qualifications in Engineering, Human Resources and Corporate Finance. She held roles as a metallurgist, operations leader and project manager working for global mining companies Glencore, Rio Tinto and Nyrstar. Over the course of her career, she has worked in regional Australia and internationally in South America, China, India and Spain.
