Bess Clark

General Manager - Project Marinus

TasNetworks

Bess heads up TasNetworks’ Project Marinus, developing a second Bass Strait electricity interconnector, ‘Marinus Link’. The project builds on Tasmania’s clean energy expertise, supporting Australia’s transition to cleaner, reliable and affordable energy. The project unlocks investment in clean energy across Tasmania, supporting jobs and economic development for decades to come. The $3.5 billion project is in the Design and Approvals stage, working towards a ‘shovel ready’ Marinus Link by 2023-4. Bess has held executive roles in the electricity networks sector over the last 15 years, and started her professional career at Sydney Water in a range of project, stakeholder and government relations roles. She’s a mum of two, supported by her husband Paul. She’s a proud Tasmanian, and a member of an entrepreneurial family with links to farming, whisky, golf and tourism industries.
