Amanda Larkin

Amanda Larkin has over 30 years’ experience in health service management. Between 2011 and 2023, under her leadership as Chief Executive, the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) saw the development of the precincts at Liverpool, Campbelltown and Bankstown involving collaboration between local government, universities and other educational institutions and stakeholders maturing research and leading to a significant capital development program.
On 11 September 2023, she was appointed as the Lead of NSW Health’s Response to Special Commission of Inquiry into healthcare funding.
At SWSLHD she was responsible for leading more than 15,000 staff and provided strategic leadership and sound governance to achieve safe, equitable and quality health care for the growing and diverse population of southwestern Sydney, stretching from Bowral to Bankstown.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and Associate Diploma in Environmental Service and in 2020 she was recognised with an Honorary Doctorate from the University of NSW for her outstanding contribution to health care in southwestern Sydney. In 2021, she was recognised with an Honorary Doctorate from Western Sydney University for her significant and sustained contribution to the University and to the western Sydney region.
Amanda serves as a Board Member on the Board of Trustees Western Sydney University and a member of Western Sydney University Audit and Risk Committee.
