Alana Newbrook is the Chief Executive Officer of SYSTRA. An engineer for over 20 years, Alana has worked in the transport, defence, and energy sectors, and has deep expertise in the set up and delivery of major infrastructure projects. Before she joined SYSTRA, Alana was the Director of Advisory in Australia at WSP. Alana has also held leadership roles at KPMG working in Defence and National Security and with Transport and Private sector clients.

Alana is a professional chemical engineer, a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). She also holds an MBA where she was valedictorian and specialised in corporate acquisitions, strategy and finance. She is passionate about STEM skills and providing education opportunities to everyone in order to foster equality. She is a champion of diversity, inclusion and an indigenous voice.

Her passion and experience saw her lead the social media arm of the Teach Us Consent campaign, pulling mandatory consent education for Australian students over the line in March 2022.

She is currently completing her Bachelor of Communications (Social and Political Science) at UTS and is most energised and inspired when surrounded with powerhouse women.
