Local community and connection matter, and regular walks help women build meaningful relationships that extend beyond a single conversation.

Intergenerational insight adds depth and perspective, helping participants build the capability to navigate decisions, transitions and what’s next in their careers.

The Conversations Women Bring —
and What They Take Away

Here are some of the questions women in Hobart brought to their mentor conversations.

Hobart walk with mum (1).jpg

"How can I navigate change with grace (career and/or personal) and set myself up for success when I'm in a new opportunity or role?

My mentor told me to set three priorities at a time and revisit it every 6 months to avoid being overwhelmed."

⎯ Mel, Hobart mentee

"I just generally want to know how I could navigate crossroads and prepare for the next 20-odd years of service.

My mentor told me to understand my values and work with them. The conversation also helped lift me out of mild despair over perceived wrong turns and see the possibilities."

⎯ Angel, Hobart mentee

"How can I refine the aspects of my current role so I can grow more?

I felt supported and reassured, as my mentor provided guidance and perspective."

"I need advice on career progression & setting myself up when transitioning to parenthood whilst maintaining my career & salary progression.

I got the validation with what I was thinking and practical tips about how to speak with my boss in relation to my career development, salary & flexibility in my role."
