Mentors in Singapore

Yen Tan

Having been in the technology industry for few decades, and with more than 30 years of diverse leadership experience, I have seen the potential that innovation and change can bring to businesses. The technology we have today has made it easier for companies to put people at the heart of everything that they do. I am privileged to be at the core of these shifting dynamics.

I constantly explore new opportunities to share the knowledge and experience I have enjoyed through my extensive career in technology. With a heart to groom the next generation of leaders, I actively involve myself in mentoring the next generation of talent to help them succeed in an environment where disruption is a norm. My colleagues know me as a people builder and I mentor early starge startups through my startup fund I founded in TNF Ventures.

I have over 10 years of non executive independent board experience in public and private organisations in Singapore and Europe. I bring my Asia and technology knowledge to board discussions. Outside work, I volunteer as a form of giving back to Singapore in few independent advisory positions across various areas close to my heart in promoting STEM education; sports excellence; startup ecosystem and gender diversity.

As a firm believer of working hard and playing hard, I practice this philosophy within the teams I led. I joined my teams on triathlons, long distance cycling and even golf tournaments. Sports, nature and family are my passions away from work.

For my contribution and distinguished services to Singapore, I’m honoured that I was appointed as Justice of the Peace by the President of Republic of Singapore in 2018.
