Lia Morris

Lia Morris is the Chief Executive Officer of Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST). MAST is Statutory Authority that ensures the safe operation of vessels in Tasmanian waters, provides and manages marine facilities and manages environmental issues relating to vessels.
Lia holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree and a Master of Town Planning. Lia’s career has been varied, starting as a Town Planner, followed by 8 years with the Housing Industry Association and culminating as its National Senior Executive Director. She then worked for 5 years as State Manager for property developer Walker Corporation and was appointed to her current role in 2011.
During her career, Lia has served on public sector boards and was an inaugural member of the now Tasmanian Planning Commission (formerly the Resource Planning & Development Commission) that oversees Tasmania’s planning system.
Lia is currently the Chair of Fahan School and a Board member of Marine and Safety Tasmania and Hamlet.
