Judith Sparkes, Vice-President of Communications at Suncor Energy, is a seasoned professional with a passion for delivering strategic communication that adds value to organizations. She holds a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership, from Royal Roads University; a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Calgary; a Coaching Certificate through the Coaches Training Institute; and a Certificate in Public Participation from the International Association for Public Participation. She is also accredited through the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and has received the association’s highest honour in Canada, recognizing outstanding career achievements; contributions to the communications profession including thought leadership and teaching; as well as service and overall contributions to the community with a Master Communicator designation. Judith’s contributions to her profession include many years of volunteering with the Calgary chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), including serving as president of the Calgary chapter from 2009-2010 and Chairing IABC International’s Academy committee. She has also contributed to the Calgary community through work on the board of Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Hospice Calgary board, as well as being a volunteer mentor with the University of Calgary graduate mentoring program. She has been guest speaker, lecturer and presenter at various conferences and an instructor in Mount Royal University’s continuing education faculty in the Public Relations Certificate program.
