Ellie leads the Bank’s People Security portfolio across Cyber, Data and Privacy, Resilience and Third Party. Her team is responsible for fostering trust with clients by cultivating a data-ready, security aware and resilience culture. She is also accountable for the Bank’s cyber skills programme, delivered through the Cyber Knowledge Hub and Communities of Practice - designed to cross skill and upskill specialist teams, and provide opportunities for those wanting to explore a career. She joined SCB in 2015 as Global Head, Policy and Awareness – Information and Cyber Security.
Born in the UK, Ellie has worked in technology for 25 years, living and leading teams in Middle East and Africa, Europe and Asia Pacific since 1995. She has held sales, partner sales, analyst, marcoms, risk management and policy roles.
Ellie is an active advocate of ensuring women have an equal voice at the table, especially young women in tech and cyber. She co-founded Lean In in the Bank, and is a regular speaker at events and conferences on cyber security, human risk and diversity and inclusion. She holds a Masters in Computer Science, an arts degree in music and is currently learning how to sail.
